Texas Roadhouse Promotes Travis Doster to Chief Communications Officer
Texas Roadhouse’s board of directors has approved the promotion of Travis Doster to chief communications officer, effective as of Nov. 9. According to an 8-K filing added to the company’s website Monday, Doster will oversee the company’s communications, marketing, events, public affairs, government relations, and corporate sustainability functions.
He has been with Texas Roadhouse since 2006 as director, then senior director, of communications. In 2018, he was promoted to vice president of communications.
Doster previously served as vice president of FSA Public Relations, where he provided PR, crisis management and issues management to clients including Jimmy John’s, Qdoba, and Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. He has over 30 years of media, PR, and industry experience, according to the filing.
Doster’s role overseeing marketing comes shortly after Chris Jacobsen resigned as the company’s chief marketing officer. Jacobsen left in August after 20 years with the brand and no reason was provided for his departure. Notably, Texas Roadhouse opts out of national advertising campaigns in favor of a local marketing strategy. That strategy seems to be working, as the company continues to generate positive traffic and sales amid a challenged environment.
