Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries have returned to restaurants nationwide for a limited time and are now available in a bigger size for $2.99. Also, on Oct. 12, the Nacho Fries will be available with a new vegan nacho sauce while supplies last – marking the brand’s first-ever national vegan limited-time offering.

The sauce, which has been certified vegan by the American Vegetarian Association, was first tested in Taco Bell’s Vegan Crunchwraps in June. According to the company, the sauce was well received, inspiring the national launch. The Nacho Fries with vegan nacho sauce will be available in two sizes, regular for $2.19 and a new large size for $2.99.

“We’re thrilled to reintroduce Nacho Fries, now with a larger-than-life flair, and our beloved vegan nacho sauce,” Liz Matthews, global chief food innovation officer, said in a statement. “This sauce, born from the success of our Vegan Crunchwrap, represents Taco Bell’s commitment to providing delicious, craveable food for a variety of lifestyles – whether you’re vegan, flexitarian or want to try something new, there’s a place for you at our table.”

According to Taco Bell, vegetarian options made up 23% of all products sold in 2022. In 2019, the company launched a dedicated vegetarian section – four years after it first acquired American Vegetarian Association certification

Pairing its new vegan sauce with its Nacho Fries could provide a strong tailwind. Nacho Fries quickly became Taco Bell’s most successful product launch ever when they were first introduced in 2018. The company has since rolled out various iterations of the product, from Loaded Truff Nacho Fries to Rattlesnake Fries and Reaper Ranch Fries. The company teased at more variations in the future, stating, “Be on the lookout for more exciting Nacho Fries news and tantalizing options, sure to keep fans coming back for more.”
