Reviving a classic: Parmesan Garlic

The combination of Parmesan cheese and garlic is a classic of Italian cuisine, and this very familiar combination is seeing new life on menus in the United States with dishes ranging from chicken and fish to risotto.

Parmesan garlic is also growing as a flavor for chicken wings, a rapidly growing item on menus this year.

As indulgent as it is easy, and combining flavors that many American consumers already love, Parmesan garlic can be used as a dipping sauce or slathered on any number of proteins to amp up both interest and flavor.

According to market research firm Datassential, Parmesan garlic is known by 85% of the U.S. population — skewing toward Gen X consumers, Millennials and consumers with children — and has been tried by 74% of the population.
